I am looking to travel to Split from Rovinj at the end of May and would like some advice about transport, please. We fly into Pula and intend to stay for two days in Rovinj prior to making our way to Split the next day.

Our intention is to go to Split and would like some guidance on this. I have had a look at the frequency and have had a look at this website which confirms the ferry from Pula to Zadar on the day we want and I cannot find any other ferry going that way.
The bus is another option however we are keen to do the ferry as this was the reason for getting to Split.

    So my questions are:

    – would you advise stopping off halfway to Zadar to break the journey?

    – what are the ferries like from Pula to Zadar?

    – should we book the bus or ferry tickets in advance?

    Thanking you in advance.

Danny, the best option for Rovinj to Split is to get from Rovinj to Pula early in the morning by taxi to get on the ferry to Zadar, as this ferry leaves early in the morning and the bus to Pula is not always available. https://www.croatiaferries.com/pula-zadar-ferry.htm
When you get to Zadar, which will be in about 5 hours, your options are to get on a bus to Split as, at present, there is no ferry from Zadar to Split. You will be in Split in about 3 hours.

Re: would you advice stopping off halfway to Zadar to break the journey?
It may be a good idea if you would like to do some sightseeing in Zadar. However, if you are in hurry to reach Split you will still have enough time to get on a bus on the same day.

Re: – what are the ferries like from Pula to Zadar?
This route is currently served by a fast ferry catamaran Krilo Ecplise, a really nice and comfortable, air-conditioned ferry, fantastic to travel with. This is probably the most comfortable ferry currently operating in Croatia (my opinion).

    This is Krilo Eclipse:

Yes, for the ferry definitely book in advance as there is only one ferry per day. For a bus – maybe not so important as there are several buses to Split you can get on the day.
