Ferry from Hvar to Bol on Brac island – Best transport options

Hi Anita, well, the trouble is April – if you are there from June to September, there would be a couple of easy options, but for April this may be a good solution:

1. 20-minute crossing, all-year-round service. Early morning departures (6 am) are obviously a disadvantage. If you can fit your itinerary for Sundays when the ferry departs at 1 pm, that would be perfect 😉
2. spend a day in Bol and get back to Jelsa in the afternoon: https://www.croatiaferries.com/bol-jelsa-ferry.htm

Even if you get there on Sunday, you will be there at 1:20 pm and you have 4 hours to explore Bol.

Now, getting to Jelsa for early morning departure is trouble as the distance between Jelsa and Hvar Town is 29 km which is about a 35-minute bus ride and the earlier bus from Hvar town leaves at 08:20.

The only option is to get a taxi or overnight in Jelsa to be ready for early morning departure.

That is why Sunday is the most viable option although you will get only 4 hours to explore Bol.

But then, perhaps, visiting Jelsa for a day, exploring, and taking the following morning ferry to Bol can also be a very nice detour.
