Has anyone on here travelled with their dog on the fast catamaran ferry from Split to Hvar and from Hvar to Dubrovnik? Also Mljet to Dubrovnik? We would like to go to Hvar and further to Mljet and Dubrovnik in May with my small dog. Are dogs allowed on catamaran ferries? Thank you for any advice

If you choose to travel with Jadrolinija this is what they say about transporting dogs on fast catamaran ferries:

Pets may be transported exclusively if they meet the technical requirements on the ship, i.e. can travel in separated boxes for an additional fee (at the same price as transport of passengers, depending on the route), with mandatory prior reservation, i.e. purchase of the travel ticket. Pets may not be in indoor passenger areas (with the exception of guide dogs), and owners take the full risk for travel and responsibility for any possible damages. Dogs must be fitted with muzzles (with the exception of guide dogs) and be on a leash, cats in boxes, and birds in cages.

As far as I know, there are just two or three fast ferries owned by Jadrolinija that are fitted with cages so it is unlikely that these particular ferries will be serving on the route you need.

    UPDATE:

For other ferry companies (Krilo, TP Line, GV Line, AdriaticExpress, etc) the best option is to contact them directly well in advance and see what they say about transporting dog for your particular route and date of travel.

Obviously, if you are traveling out of season, when catamarans are not so busy, there will be more space onboard for animals. For high season (July & August) make sure you book your place for you and your dog well in advance.

I would suggest you choose a car ferry for your travel, whenever possible, as on car ferries dogs and other animals are allowed (subject to specific restrictions).
