    I would like to book a ferry journey in August from Bari Italy to Bar Montenegro 2 people one car.

    Is this route available and still running this August or has it been discontinued and no longer an option?

    If it is no longer running and won’t be in the future what is the alternative to get from Bari to this area?

    Can I go from Bar to Croatia or do I have to travel to Durress in Albania or what is the alternative?

    When I’am looking at your website it says there are no further sailings. Are there no sailings this year or is the schedule uploaded later?
    My plan is to use the ferry in July.
    Any information appreciated!

    We would like to travel from Bar, Montenegro to Bari in July but when we try to book on your website it says no sailings are available.

    Is this because tickets aren’t available yet or because the ferries won’t be running?

    For the ferry crossing between Italy and Montenegro, we do not have any confirmation that this line is discontinued.

    We are still waiting for the ferry company to release the schedule for this line for this year.

    Hopefully, it will be soon although, from our experience from previous years, the schedule info about this line for the current year was released very late (sometimes even in June) so bearing in mind this, if you prefer to have confirmed crossing then go for alternative crossings, which are bookable all year round.

    The alternative ferry crossings are Bari to Dubrovnik, but schedules are not updated yet (usually run by the same ferry),  Ancona to Split https://www.croatiaferries.com/ancona-split-ferry.htm that is bookable all year round and Bari to Durres, also bookable all year round.

    2024 Update for ferry between Italy and Montenegro:

    July 2024:

    • Ancona – Bar Montenegro crossing is starting on the 9th of July 2024 – book here

    June 2024:

    • According to Montenegro government sources (see below), it is expected that from July this year, there will be a ferry crossing between Bar Montenegro port and Ancona in Italy.
    • The vessel will be a Ro-Ro ferry, taking vehicles and passengers.
    • The ferry crossing will be serviced by Adria Ferries in partnership with Barska Plovidba ferry company.
    • AF Mia is the vessel that will serve this route.
    • They expect service to start on 03.07.2024
    • The crossing will be part of the existing Durres to Ancona crossing, so the plan is that the ferry line will sail from Durres to Bar and then to Ancona. On its way back it will be Ancona via Bar to Duress.
