I have a question about foot passengers on car ferries run by Jadrolinija –

We are a family traveling by foot to Stari Grad on Hvar Island from Split in September this year.

The timing of the car ferry suits us better and it’s cheaper and better for our budget.

We are not a fan of sea travel and the journey is also longer than a catamaran crossing directly to Hvar town.

I am a little concerned about how it is and what the embarking & disembarking procedure is like as a foot passenger as opposed to a car embarking & disembarking.

    Thanks for any input

all you have to do is to just buy a ticket for a foot passenger and go on the ferry.

these ferries are huge and you shouldn’t experience any seasickness even if the sea is rough.

go on the deck, and enjoy the sunshine and beautiful views

The car ferries are much more stable in the sea than the fast catamarans so you should have no problems.

You can also sit on the top deck and enjoy the views while traveling. Embarkment and disembarkment are forward, you will be guided by the crew, so no worries!
